Triathlon Homes is proud to fund the Community Team based at EVML. They are working with young people at Chobham Academy to find out how they can learn from the community and be a source of inspiration for their peers.

Young people between the ages of 17-20 are looking for ways to be more invested in our community and for opportunities as they take the next steps to adulthood.

The EVML Community Team have been working with students from Chobham Academy, asking them about their experience of living in the local area. Lots of students felt there wasn’t much to do but there was lots of enthusiasm and ideas for the future. The feedback highlighted a demand for more active sessions outside school and captured people’s enthusiasm for sport and music.

The project is at its early stages and the EVML Community Team along with partners such as the team at Vine Connect would like to create a group for young people to get together where they can feel valued by and value for the local community. There is much we can learn from young people about what’s good for the area, while enabling them to grow the skills for the next steps in their life, whether it be work or university.
